One of the city’s most prestigious festivals, the Bulawayo Arts Festival (BAF), is returning, with this year’s edition set to run from June 2 to 6, offering five days of artistic bold expression, culture, and connection.

Organised by the City of Bulawayo, this year’s edition will run under the theme, “Building Bridges, Preserving Connections.”
The festivities are expected to go beyond performance, as the festival aims to link communities, celebrate identity, and shape the future of the arts.
Among the activities and events lined up for BAF, organisers have announced that they will host multi-award-winning Gospel-Jazz songbird Vuyo Brown in a live concert on June 6 at the City Hall Car Park.
The event promises to be an unforgettable night of music, connection, and pure artistic energy, with Vuyo Brown set to take centre stage for a special performance in the heart of the city.
“This is a Pay What You Want experience because art should be accessible, shared, and celebrated by everyone,” organisers said in a statement.
A full-length programme for this year’s edition will be released soon.
BAF was created in 2020 to commemorate the declaration of June 1 as “Bulawayo Day” and to celebrate the city’s 126th anniversary since its establishment in 1894.
The festival serves as an annual, city-wide showcase designed to promote local heritage, boost the creative economy, and strengthen cultural tourism, and it is traditionally held during the first week of June.
