Bulawayo Christian League now a ZIFA affiliate

IN its seventh season, the Bulawayo Christian Soccer League (BCSL) has finally been affiliated to the Zimbabwe Football Association(Zifa), the local football mother body.

This means the league will now seek to play organised football.

a?The Bulawayo Christian League has come on board. They are now affiliated to Zifa just like other area zone leagues.

It is a mandate for even social leagues to become the associationas affiliates. What has been done by the cityas Christian Leagues shows that they want to play organised football,a? said Zifa Bulawayo province board member in charge of administration, Siphambaniso Dube.

Bulawayo Christian League chairman Timothy Mandizadza (ABOVE), who also leads formidable side Sangano Revaspotori, said the idea was all about getting professional as they seek to give players a chance to showcase their talents.

a?The whole idea of becoming a full Zifa affiliate was to have our playersa database. We are aiming at giving them (league players) a professional platform that can help them break into mainstreamA leagues locally or abroad,a? said Mandizadza.

The leagueas 2016 season began last SaturdayA with four new clubs coming on board.

The league welcomed Victory Fellowship, Crown of Glory, Grace Christian Church and Flying Stars.A The new additions bring the number of clubs in the league to 12 as two old clubs could not make it for the new season.

Mandizadza also revealed that the League was tying up loose ends to launch their website, which was initially scheduled to be made public last year.

The hosting of the website www.bulawayochristianleague.org is meant to help the league reach out to the broader spectrum of the global sporting family.

The website will have player profiles, fixtures, results, history of the association and activities that the league will embark on during the course of the year.
