Bus driver fined R20 000

Monday fined R20 000.
The accident occurred on July 17 this year along the N1 Highway between Musina and Louis Trichardt in South Africa’s Limpopo province.

Joseph Ndlovu of Bulawayo pleaded not guilty to charges of culpable homicide.
But a Makhado magistrate convicted him of the offence. Ndlovu risks being imprisoned for two years if he fails to pay the fine.

Ndlovu, who was driving a Tans-Africa Lux bus from Bulawayo to Johannesburg in South Africa with 55 passengers on board including the crew, lost control of the vehicle after it developed a mechanical fault.
The bus veered off the road, hit some culverts, rolled for about 100m before crushing against a telephone pole.
