Ward 23 Shadow Councillor for Insiza North, Cde Sikhanyisiwe Nkomo, popularly known as the “CAB3 Queen”, has welcomed what she described as overwhelming public support for Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 (CAB3) during the parliamentary consultation process.
Cde Nkomo has been involved in community mobilisation initiatives and development projects across Insiza District while advocating for the proposed constitutional amendment.
Speaking to the media, she said the consultations had demonstrated a spirit of national unity and engagement.
“I am so proud of my nation. I have never witnessed such unity before. Truly, a nation is built by its own people. Congratulations, Zimbabweans, for the public support to this bill which allows for term extension. Elections often bring nothing but confusion and division. From now on, we will see development only, and our people being empowered,” she said.
Cde Nkomo said the consultation process had brought together people from different political backgrounds and encouraged national dialogue.
“Since the CAB3 campaign, we have witnessed oneness between the ruling party and the opposition. The consultations in Parliament were thorough, the debates were smooth, and CAB3 was well received. MPs brought evidence from their constituencies, and the outcome was thunderous. The people have shown that they love their nation more than they love fighting for electoral positions,” she said.
She urged Zimbabweans to respect the outcome of the legislative process and remain focused on national development.
“The voice of the people is the voice of God. The people have spoken. Let us all respect the results of CAB3. Congratulations to President E.D. Mnangagwa, MPs, and councillors as you lead us toward 2030 in empowerment and development. Congratulations to all Zimbabweans for your overwhelming support of CAB3. Together, Zimbabwe will become a middle-income economy by 2030,” said Cde Nkomo.
