PEOPLE in Masvingo have hailed President Mugabe for appointing eight Cabinet ministers and deputies from the province.
Apart from Cde Walter Mzembi who was retained as the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Zanu-PF Politburo member Cde Dzikamai Mavhaire was appointed Minister of Energy and Power Development, while fellow Politburo member Cde Josaya Hungwe is now Minister of State for Liaising on Psychomotor Activities in Education (Vocational Training).
Another Politburo member Cde Kudakwashe Bhasikiti was appointed Minister of State Responsible for Masvingo province.
President Mugabe also appointed four deputy ministers from the province – Dr Paul Chimedza (Health and Child Care), Cde Davis Marapira (Agriculture Responsible for Cropping, Mechanisation and Irrigation), Cde Mathias Tongofa (Youth Development and Empowerment) and Cde Tongai Muzenda (Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare).
Zanu-PF Masvingo provincial chairperson Cde Lovemore Matuke said the move was a deserved reward for the party’s emphatic victory in the July 31 harmonised polls.
