CAF have confirmed the list of referees who will officiate at the CAF African Schools Football Championship Continental Finals, scheduled to be held in Harare, Zimbabwe from April 2–10.
Now in its fourth edition since its 2022 launch, the CAF African Schools Football Championship continues to strengthen its position as a key development platform for young football talent across the continent.
The upcoming finals will once again bring together promising players, while equally creating a platform for Africa’s young and emerging referees.
The appointed officials represent a diverse and inclusive team of officials, comprising both male and female referees from different regions of Africa.
The delegation includes some of the continent’s top emerging referees, with the youngest aged just 17.
All selected match officials are products of the CAF Young Referees Programme; an initiative aimed at identifying and nurturing officiating talent at grassroots level.
The programme remains a central feature of the CAF African Schools Football Championship, having been implemented throughout the Zonal Qualifiers and set to continue during the Continental Finals in Zimbabwe.
The CAF African Schools Football Championship is a flagship school’s football initiative of CAF President, Patrice Motsepe, forming part of the President’s broader vision of making African football globally competitive and self-sustaining. – cafonline.com
