RED hot Caps United striker Leonard Tsipa will miss the Harare derby against archrivals Dynamos set for this Sunday after accumulating three yellow cards.

The veteran forward picked up yellow cards against Harare City and the back-to-back matches against Border Strikers.

Tsipa has been in devastating form for Makepekepe and his suspension comes at a crucial moment when Lloyd Chitembwe’s side needs maximum points from their remaining games to secure their first league title in over a decade.

Caps United lead the Castle Lager Premiership table by two points and can’t afford to falter at this stage of the campaign.

Tsipa will sit it out together with seven other players, including his teammate Phineas Bamusi.

“Please note that the player(s) listed hereunder have each accumulated three yellow cards and will be suspended for one match respectively.

“The said player(s) shall not participate in their club’s matchday 27 of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League matches scheduled for the 14th to 16th October 2016,” reads a PSL communiqué released yesterday.

The other suspended players for this weekend’s matches are Chicken Inn defender Lawrence Mhlanga, FC Platinum’s Gift Bello, Nickel Marichi of Tsholotsho, Munyaradzi Kunyarimwe of ZPC Kariba as well as Benson Phiri of Highlanders.

Phiri had just returned from a long injury layoff when he picked his third yellow card in Bosso’s dramatic 1-0 win over a stubborn Chapungu at Ascot Stadium in Gweru last Saturday.

Meanwhile, Border Strikers will be condemned to Division One for next season if they lose their away match to fellow relegation fighters Mutare City Rovers at Sakubva Stadium on Saturday.

A win for Mutare City will take their points tally to 25 points, with nine points left to play.

This means if Border Strikers lose on Saturday and win the other three games, they can only end the season on 23 points.

Six teams are mathematically not safe from the chop and these include Hwange, How Mine, Chapungu, Mutare City, Tsholotsho and Border Strikers. Draws for Hwange and How Mine will seal their place in the top tier league for next season.
