CAPS United might be scoring goals that have set them in sight of their first Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title in over a decade, but they also lead the race as the league’s bad boys.
According to the PSL Fair Play table, as of Week 25, Hwange is the most behaved team, with the least penalty points of 145, while Caps United have accumulated the most points, 355.
Hwange’s 23 yellow cards earned them 115 penalty points and were punished 30 points for three red cards.
The league penalises five points for every yellow card, 10 points for a red card, 10 points for delaying kick-off and 10 points for using wrong entry at a match venue.
Points for violating the league’s standing orders and conviction by the disciplinary committee vary between five points and 30 points.
For topping the league’s Fair Play table, Hwange are in line for the Most Disciplined Team accolade, which carries a $10 000 reward.
Caps United’s 355 points were amassed from 41 yellow cards amounting to 205 points, 10 points for a single red card, another 10 points for delaying kick-off and 130 points from disciplinary fines.
Bulawayo giants Highlanders are 12th, tied on 280 points with champions Chicken Inn.
Highlanders were penalised 160 points for their 32 yellow cards, with 120 points coming from disciplinary fines, while Chicken Inn accumulated 200 points for 40 yellow cards, 30 points for three red cards and 50 points from disciplinary issues.
Former champions Dynamos are 13th with 290 points amassed from 30 yellow cards (150 points), two red cards (20 points) and 120 points from disciplinary fines.
