CAPS United defender Bruce Kangwa says they are eying a top four finish in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.
Makepekepe are currently eight on the log with 30 points, 15 behind log leaders FC Platinum.
Kangwa said a top four finish is achievable if they keep on working hard and keep the winning momentum.
“In the second half, we are trying to work and improve as a team.
“Our goal is to finish in a respectable position.
“We are targeting a top four finish. A top four finish is very much within reach,” said Kangwa.
CAPS United will host Manica Diamonds at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday in their week 24 fixture.
Kangwa said they are gunning for maximum points going into this fixture.
“We are ready for our Sunday game, and we want nothing less than three points.
“The games we have played are water under the bridge.
“Our focus is now on our next assignment,” added the 36 years old left back.
Kangwa believes the second leg of the season is the toughest.
The green machine have managed seven out of the possible 15 in their first five matches of the second leg.
“I believe the second round of the season is the toughest.
“It is the toughest because a lot of teams will be running away from relegation, and the fight at the top will be tough too.
“Second round is not for the weak it requires character, determination, and a lot of hard work,” said the former Highlanders star.
Kangwa joined CAPS United at the beginning of the 2024 season from Azam.
He had last played in the local league in 2015 at Highlanders.
He reckons the competition has improved.
“I have been away for a long time. Things are different now.
“The competition has improved. The league is very competitive.
“Competition is tough, and there are no minnows. The competition is healthy.
“When there is competition it improves players, players better themselves when there is competition,” he added.
