The CAPS United/Hardbody game in Gweru on Saturday remained on the fixture yesterday but it’s likely to be scrapped with the Green Machine now having three players in the national team after skipper David Sengu was drafted.
Former champions Motor Action will be out to put their Premiership campaign wagon back on the rails when they face Black Mambas at Morris Depot this weekend.
Despite the Premiership programme being overshadowed by the high-profile Warriors’ game against Guinea, there will be plenty of action in the top-flight across the country over the weekend.
All the Premiership matches will be played on Saturday to pave way for the senior national team’s opening 2014 World Cup qualifier against Guinea at the National Sports stadium the following day.
“We are still preparing for the game and the preparations are going according to plan except for Morris Kadzola who took a knock in our last game against Dynamos,” said Bulls’ coach, Joey Antipas.
“Every game is different and our previous result is now water under the bridge but it can still motivate us to play better in our next match.
“We need to get that courage and determination to start winning matches so that we move with other teams at the top there.”
Despite missing the services of their veteran goalkeeper Marlon Jani and defender Godfrey Moyo who are with the national team, Antipas remained confident of collecting maximum points.
“Moyo and Jani are with the national team but we have enough replacements to fill the void.
“Everyone is fit to play and with the attitude in camp we are definitely going to collect the maximum points,” said Antipas.
Black Mambas on the other hand have become punching bags in the league as they lost all their four last games.
Moses Chunga’s men suffered defeats going down 3-1 to Highlanders, 2-1 to Hwange, 1-0 to Shabanie mine and 1-0 to Chicken Inn.
Chunga who assumed reigns at the struggling Police outfit is yet to prove his mettle and will be desperate to start picking points.
