Harare Derby against Dynamos, and receive full winning bonuses for the four matches they have lost so far this season.
The Green Machine have a date against Masvingo United in a Castle Lager Premiership tie at the National Sports Stadium on Wednesday before they take on Monomotapa next weekend and then DeMbare at the giant stadium.
Makepekepe have lost four of their 11 Premiership matches to date, going down to Motor Action, Blue Ribbon, Highlanders and Hwange.
But they turned on the style to destroy a hapless Kiglon 5-1 at Rufaro, in their last match before the Castle Lager Premiership took a break to accommodate the Warriors’ Nations Cup tie against Mali on Sunday.
CAPS United do not pay their players when they lose while there are bonuses for a draw and a victory.
The winning bonus, which is uniform among all the players, is currently pegged at around US$150 although every player has a different salary depend on his contract and value to the Green Machine.
The four losses, in the league this year, means that the CAPS United players have so far lost about US$600 each in potential earnings.
Yesterday the club’s director Farai Jere addressed his team’s players, during their training session in the capital, and challenged them to win the next three matches and receive winning bonuses for the four games that they lost.
“When we lost to Hwange, we decided that we needed to win the next four league matches to put ourselves back in the picture in the race for the league championship,” said Jere.
“That is our target and we have already won the first one where we beat Kiglon and we have three more matches.
“The next one is against Masvingo, then Monomotapa and Dynamos and we have asked the boys to win all the matches and get their good bonus.
“If they can do that, and win all the four matches, we will convert the four matches that they lost, and did not get anything, into bonus matches and we will pay the players their full bonuses even though they lost those matches.
“The money was there because it had been budgeted for, in the hope that we would win the games, and we have to find ways of using it to inspire the team to make up for the ground they lost when they lost.
“So if they win their next match against Masvingo, they will get their usual bonus and it will be the same against Monomotapa.
“But if they reach our target and also win against Dynamos, bringing the games to four wins, then their bonuses will double and they would be paid for each of the four matches they lost, bringing extra money into each of their pockets.” Jere said they were so sure that if they win their next four matches, they would be back into the race for the Premiership title.
“We went through a very rough patch, and this happens in football, but we believe we have turned the corner and there is unity of purpose within the directors, the coaches and the players and our fans are excited, too,” said Jere.
“We have three big games coming and two of them, against Masvingo United and Dynamos, are at the National Sports Stadium and the other one, against Monoz, we will be away and most likely at Rufaro.
“It will be exciting to see how our players apply themselves, should they win their next two matches, and know that they need to beat Dynamos and win the jackpot we have offered them.
“We are pretty sure they will not love to lose that match and it all adds up for a very good game.”
Midfielder Marvel Samaneka, who was injured in the 5-1 win over Kiglon where he scored his first goal of the season, was so inspired by the challenge that he asked the team’s doctors to put him on a fast-track treatment course to help him recover quickly.
“Basically, Samaz want to play in each of those three matches because he wants to help the team as he can feel that his form is getting better and better,” said Jere.
