Cardi B slams Offset

AMERICAN rapper Cardi B has publicly criticised her estranged husband Offset, accusing him of deliberately delaying their divorce by failing to sign the necessary paperwork.

Cardi B aired her grievances in a recent live stream on X (formerly Twitter), taking an aim at Offset for not buying Christmas presents for their children, despite appearing to show affection towards them.

She alleged that he was intentionally trying to get back at her while using their children as an excuse.

The rapper highlighted what she called his hypocrisy, noting that Offset had bought gifts for his other children in New York, while neglecting their own.

To further emphasise his lack of involvement in their family life, she revealed that he had only called their daughter once that year.

Her comments reflect the ongoing tensions in their relationship and the strain on their family dynamics.

She said: “I did not want to do this, but I do not like when I am at peace and someone wants to call me over and over, then do little things behind the scenes to annoy me.

“You want to see the kids? You just called your daughter for the first time this year yesterday — your newborn.

“You love your kids so much, but you did not buy them anything for Christmas.

“You go to New York to buy gifts for your other kids, but you have not bought my kids a thing. You are doing this just to spite me.

Stop playing with me, and sign these damn divorce papers.

“Stop using my kids as an excuse. You are not going to use my kids as an excuse because these are the same kids you did not buy anything for at Christmas.”

Cardi B and Offset separated in 2023 after six years of marriage.

New faces for Muvhango

Two new faces are set to join popular SABC soapie Muvhango in January.

Actress Gabisile Tshabalala will replace Bontle Rampa as Bubbles Mosipidi, a receptionist at Hanyani Holdings.Speaking about joining the show, Tshabalala said the transition was easy.

“I have joined a warm family that filled my heart in a way I did not think I needed. I feel like I am working in a team that loves each other. I have never joined a company that does actor workshops and team building for cast and crew. What Bab’ Duma Ndlovu (filmmaker and producer) is doing is commendable.

“I am replacing an existing character known as Bubbles, and usually, that is a very tricky transition when you find people who have been working together for a long time. In my case, I clicked right in and I felt at home,” she said.

Her first appearance will be on January 21.

Another new face on the show is actor and musician Nicholas “Nick Soul” Nkuna, who will be playing the role of Khalema Semenya, who is described as a streetwise “shark” with a mysterious history and questionable loyalties.

In the show, he is Dr Ximba’s cousin and Sakhile’s uncle, though his connections to the family come with complicated undercurrents.

Khalema spent several years in the army but was discharged under mysterious circumstances.

Nkuna said the most exciting thing about his new character is that he speaks a rarely used South African language.

“For the first time, I get to act in a language rarely given a chance on South African television — Swati. This is a meaningful moment, representing young kids who may now see themselves in stories that reflect their heritage and identity.” — Wires
