At the just concluded 2014 edition of the Channel O Music Video Awards, South African rapper Refiloe Maele Phoolo, otherwise called Casper Nyovest, emerged joint biggest winner of the night, scooping three awards in the Most Gifted Male, Most Gifted Southern and the Most Gifted Video of the Year categories.
Giving a special heart-warming shoutout to his mum, who was with him at the event, Casper wrote: “This woman went through so much raising me. Then she went through so much for letting me drop out and rap.
“The family kept asking her if is she was crazy. It gives me the greatest joy to see her smile out of pride that her son made something of himself and she can finally tell the family she told them so. She is my everything.
“She loved me when I had nothing but I dream and she believed in me. My dream is to buy her a red Bentley one day. She is my rock. I cannot explain how much she means to me. My mom is amazing. Thank you Jesus.”
Casper dropped his debut album, “Tsholofelo” on July 18, 2014 under his own independent label and media company, Family Tree and his hit single, ‘‘Doc Shebeleza’’ is still ruling the airwaves and clubs across the African continent. – NET.
