PSL matches cancelled

THE Premier Soccer League (PSL) has cancelled all the matches that were scheduled for Saturday so as to allow the national team to prepare for its weekend match without any disruptions.
Zimbabwe play Guinea at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday in a 2014 World Cup qualifier. “This serves to advise that the League has postponed all the Castle Lager PSL matches scheduled for Saturday 02 June 2012.
City artistes hit back at Macheso

BULAWAYO musicians have hit back at Alick Macheso over his rant last week saying he should not gain support from fans by mocking them.
Macheso mocked Bulawayo artistes during his show on Thursday night, saying he could fill up Bulawayo’s Amphitheatre and they could not although he was playing in their mother city.

Former Liberian leader Taylor jailed for 50 years
THE HAGUE — Former Liberian President Charles Taylor was jailed for 50 years yesterday for helping Sierra Leonean rebels commit what a court in The Hague called some of the worst war crimes in history.
Taylor (64), was the first head of state convicted by an international court since the trials of Nazis after World War Two and the sentence set a precedent for the emerging system of international justice.

SABMiller increases shareholding in Delta Corporation to 40pc

ONE of the world’s largest brewers, SABMiller, has increased its shareholding in local beverages and soft drink maker Delta from 38 percent to 40 percent.
In a statement accompanying their financial results for the year ending 31 March 2012, SABMiller chief executive Mr Graham Mackay said the local lager and soft drink volumes continued to record encouraging results.
