Stray leopards wreak havoc in Tshitulipasi

STRAY leopards from the Greater Limpopo Transfrontier Conservation area have descended on Tshitulipasi village in Beitbridge District where they are reportedly killing livestock.

When Chronicle visited the area last week, villagers said they were losing their livestock to leopards, which are targeting donkeys and calves.

Rocks ready for new season

MASVINGO-BASED cricket franchise side Southern Rocks says they are prepared for the new season which starts this Saturday.

TWO MDC-T members on Sunday surprised many when they turned up at a Zanu-PF rally which was being addressed by the Member of Parliament for Umguza, Dr Obert Mpofu.

The two are the Member of Parliament for Hwange Central, Mr Brian Tshuma and the Hwange Rural District Council chairperson, Councillor Cosmas Kaboloma Ndlovu.

The rally was held at Dinde Shopping Centre in Hwange Central Constituency.

Villagers forced to share drinking water with animals

VILLAGERS in Tshamatema village in Tshitulipasi area of Beitbridge District are facing a serious water shortage and they have now resorted to sharing water with animals.

Chronicle last week visited the area and villagers who spoke to this paper confirmed the latest development.

“We have for the past three months been drinking water from Tshamatema Dam following the breakdown of several boreholes servicing the village. The dam water that we are now drinking is dirty and in some cases you find animal carcasses floating in water,” said Mr Rudzani Mbedzi.

Gweru men hospitalised after reaction to circumcision

THREE Gweru men, among them a father and son, were reportedly admitted to Gweru Provincial Hospital after they reacted by bleeding profusely after being circumcised at the hospital’s circumcision clinic.

In an interview, one of the men said he had taken his son, aged 16, to the hospital circumcision clinic when they suffered the complications.

He said he was hospitalised in the same ward with his son for three days following the anomaly.
