HARDROCK have bolstered their squad with the signing of veteran midfielder Devon Chafa and defender Evidence Tendayi.
The team are preparing for their debut in the Central Region Soccer League Division One League.
Chafa, a highly decorated player, brings a wealth of experience to the team, having played for Dynamos and CAPS United in the past.
The midfielder had been linked with a move back to Dynamos during pre-season, but Hardrock managed to secure his signature.
“I’m looking forward to helping the club achieve its goal of earning a top-flight ticket by the end of the season,” Chafa told Zimpapers Sports Hub.
“The club is building something positive and I want to be a part of it.
“There are a lot of talented youngsters here and, with hard work and unity, I believe we can achieve great things.”
Hardrock coach Calvin Maphosa said:
“The arrival of Devon Chafa and Evidence Tendayi is a major boost to our squad. We’re ready for the season, and these new additions will add steel to our midfield.”
The team played a friendly match against Karoi United on Saturday, where Chafa and Tendayi made their appearances.
“Every day, the club is getting better. We’re improving with each game and I’m confident that we’ll have a good season.”
Hardrock have also signed several other top players, including former FC Platinum and ex-GreenFuel striker Donald Ngoma, former Highlanders forward Cleopas Dube, and the goalkeeping duo Takabva Mawaya and Tafadzwa Jabangwe.
The Kwekwe-based side are owned by businessman Shepherd Chahwanda, who is building a 10 000-seater stadium in partnership with Prophet Walter Magaya.
