CHAPUNGU have vowed to upset Highlanders and complete a rare double over the giants, when the two clubs rise in a Castle Lager Premiership tie at Ascot this afternoon. Coach John Nyikadzino said they were ready to beat the former champions who have had a poor season this year.
“We are looking forward to a tough match because Highlanders have a new technical department and if you look at the position they are on the log, they would want to fight to the end to avoid relegation,” said Nyikadzino.
“However, we are prepared for them and I have no doubt that we can complete a double over them so that we can cement our place in the top eight.”
Chapungu will be without leading goalscorer, Tinei Chitora, who has been on target seven times in the league this season.
The gangly forward is suspended for this game.
Bosso technical adviser, Cosmas “Tsano” Zulu, believes his men will battle for their points at Ascot.
“We have not had the best of the preparations since we were missing the services of some of our key players who only joined camp today (yesterday) as they were with the national team.
“However, it’s not an excuse as we believe in the other players we have at our disposal and we believe they can do the job.
“As a technical team we were mandated to ensure that the team is not relegated and we have to win the game tomorrow (today) at all costs so that we move to safety,” said Zulu.
