ARTIST and former Minister, Fortune Chasi, has raised concern over Zim dancehall chanter Dobba Don’s battles with drug abuse.
The chanter has turned into a destitute.
His closest friends confirmed the chanter was now in a bad shape and in need of rehabilitation.
Fellow artists, including Ti Gonzi, also announced publicly that the Mudendere hit-maker was in desperate need of a helping hand.
Dobba Don’s poor state inspired Chasi, and other partners, to organise the chanter’s rehabilitation.
In a statement, Chasi said:
“Happy to inform that I, and few others interested, met to discuss the Dobba Don Rehabilitation Trust.
“Amongst other things it (is meant to) fundraise for rehab, working with his managers, organise his work and income,”he said.
He added: “Trustees will be drawn from a variety of areas such as arts, anti- drug organisations or activists and businesses.
“If you have a sprucing role you want to play please do get in touch.”
He also promised to have a trust that will help all those with similar situations to Dobba Don.
“But we can’t do Dobba only when we know the problem is a pandemic now.
“So, we will consider having a single trust covering all people in the target group.
“So, after rehab, we can extend the trust afterwards or just form another general one,” he said.
