POPULAR Zimdancehall clique, Chillspot Family, will celebrate its 12th anniversary at this year’s Zimbabwe Cup Clash contest scheduled for City Sports Centre on August 31.

The event, which coincides with the last day of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show in Harare, is being held in partnership with Chipaz Promotions.

Chillspot co-founder, DJ Fantan – real name Arnold Kamudyariwa – confirmed their new milestone.

“Chillspot Family has turned 12 years after its formation in 2012,” said the hype-man.

“There were four of us when we started but SamCriss left to start his projects. The founder members left are DJ Levels, myself and Ribhe.

“To ensure that our anniversary makes an impression, we have partnered Chipaz Promotions who are going to help us honour talented ghetto youths.”

DJ Fantan urged aspiring chanters to register on time to avoid disappointment.

“Registration has started and we are calling upon all talented chanters from all over Zimbabwe to approach us for registration.

“The response is overwhelming and we anticipate a big crowd,” he said.

DJ Fantan, Levels and Ribhe met 12 years ago in Mbare before they became household names.

Chipaz Promotions has been credited for giving Zimdancehall musicians exposure.
