Chipinge district is topping Manicaland in health institutional deliveries, a senior health official said recently. The Provincial Medical Director (PMD) Dr. Patron Mafaune said this during her special visit at Musani Clinic in Chipinge where she hailed the efforts of health workers with the support of World Vision alongside the community in containing the prevalence of home deliveries.
“I am really impressed by the great health work being done here by all of you with the support of World Vision in making home deliveries a talk of the past, as is evidenced by the response of pregnant mothers who are reporting early to the clinic for booking and also to register their pregnancies,” said Dr
Mafaune.
Dr Mafaune stressed on the importance of health education in the reduction of diseases and called for an increase in the formation of care groups and encouraged all districts to form these groups.
“Mothers have got an important role to play in their lives and also to ensure the well being of their children and hence the importance of health education. From the achievements I observed in terms of healthcare I would like to believe that at the end of World Vision’s tenure here in 2018, every one will be competent in health matters,” she said.
The Nurse-in-Charge at Musani clinic, Mrs Abigail Musari commended the activities being done by health workers with the support of World Vision in educating the community about health and child health.
