CHIREDZI is this year hosting the Southern African Cultural Fair that drew participants from Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mozambique and Swaziland. The fair dubbed Great Limpopo Cultural Fair started yesterday (Thursday) and will end on Sunday. This year’s edition is the third one and is running under the theme: “Improving rural livelihoods through cultural entrepreneurship.”
The initiative came into existence following the signing of The Great Limpopo Trans Frontier Park agreement by Zimbabwe, Mozambique and South Africa in 2002.
The accord aims at bringing into effect a giant wildlife zone with the benefit of re-establishing the historical animal migration routes and fragile regional ecosystems through the amalgamation of Zimbabwe’s Gonarezhou, Mozambique’s Limpopo and South Africa’s Kruger National Parks respectively.
The cultural fair serves as a platform of The Great Limpopo communities’ artists and businessmen to share ideas and showcase their talent.
