Chitungwiza Mayor, Councillor Rosaria Mangoma, brought joy to hundreds of households today after distributing hampers to vulnerable people at their Head Office in Zengeza.
The Mayor’s Christmas Cheer Fund, an initiative launched earlier this month, aims to bring joy and relief to those in need during the festive season, and several organisations and individuals have contributed to its success.

“We are grateful to our community, local businesses, organisations, and donors for their support.
“Your contributions have made it possible for us to bring joy and relief to many families in Chitungwiza,” she said.

She wished everyone a happy and prosperous 2025 and urged the community to continue giving to the less privileged as a path of spreading hope and warmth to them.

“As we distribute these groceries, we are not only providing for physical needs but also spreading hope and warmth to the less fortunate,” she said.
Beneficiaries were overwhelmed with joy and thanked the mayor and donors for their kindness.
“This hamper will make a big difference for my family this holiday,” said one grateful recipient.
Prophet Miracle Paul, Lobels and Nyaradzo Life Assurance Company are among those who contributed to the cheer fund.
Acting Town Clerk, Dr Evangelista Machona? said it is the council’s desire to increase the number of beneficiaries next year.
