It will be an exciting affair this weekend when the Lake July Festival takes place at the Lake Chivero.
The festival began yesterday with several musicians and DJs lined up for the big event.
Musicians that include Kinna, Trevor Dongo, Evicted and DJs Ashy Stylz and Nivek will be among the performers.
Kinna said he was happy to be performing on such a big festival.
He is ridding high with his song “Musombo” that has been played in most public places.
Dongo is one of the most sought after musician in the country and he is expected to sample new staff at the event.
The event is underway and today it begins in the afternoon. Organisers have done their ground work and the festival is likely to be memorable.
Stanford Chibanda who is artiste coordinator for the event said they have tried to come up with a star-studded line up.
“The festival is here and everything has been lined in place. All the artistes have confirmed their participation in the event,” he said.
Leading radio station Star FM is the official radio partner for the event.
Last week the organisers announced several outlets that are selling advance tickets.
The early bird tickets selling at $5each are available at all Coloursel shops located in the capital, Chicken Basket in Mt Pleasant, Chicken Slice outlets in the capital and Star FM studios.
“The listed points are where the tickets are available,” he said.
This year the festival has a shuttle service to ferry people to and from the lake. People will be able to get the service from various spots in the Harare CBD.
Parking will be available at Julius Nyerere Parkade (corner Julius Nyerere and Nelson Mandela), Parklane parking (located adjacent to Crown Plaza), S.V.Muzenda Street Parking (corner S.V.Muzenda Street and George Silundika) Parking rates will be $3for an entire day and $2 for night parking.
