As the Zimbabwe Football Associstion (ZIFA) prepares to elect a new board, one name has emerged as a strong contender for a seat: Edmore Chivero.
But does he have what it takes to lead Zimbabwean football to new heights?
With nearly two decades of experience in Zimbabwean football, Chivero’s resume is impressive. He has worked as a team manager for the Young Warriors, and has held various roles with Njube Sundowns and Bulawayo City Football Clubs.
But it is not just about experience – it is about vision. And Chivero has got it. He is pledging to focus on grassroots development, infrastructure development, and governance reform.
“We need to invest in our young players,” Chivero told B Metro Online.
“We need to give them the resources and support they need to succeed. And we need to make sure our infrastructure is up to par.”
A new era for Zimbabwean football?
Chivero’s election to the ZIFF board could signal a new era for Zimbabwean football. He is a man with a plan, and the passion to see it through.
But the local game is not without its challenges. Zimbabwean football is still reeling from years of corruption and mismanagement. Can Chivero overcome these obstacles and be part of the leadership that will take the sport to new heights?
