FOR the second year running, Chronicle has been adjudged the best on sports news coverage in the country compared to other daily publications. According to a survey conducted by the Zimbabwe All Media and Products’ Survey (ZAMPS), Chronicle Sports enjoys an 18 percent readership, followed by The Herald who are on 17 percent. Despite being the best, Chronicle Sports’ readership dropped by four percent compared to last year’s figures while The Herald enjoyed a three percent increase.

The rest of the daily publications are all below 10 percent, with Newsday enjoying nine percent readership while H-Metro and dailynews are on six and five percent respectively.

The Zimbabwe All Media and Products’ Survey is commissioned by the advertising, marketing, public relations and media industries who want to know what people watch, read and listen to, where and how they shop and which products they buy.

The survey results provide information that helps marketing people define and understand their target markets.
