HARARE City vice-captain James Jam believes his colleagues will handle the pressure when they face in-form FC Platinum at Mandava in a Castle Lager Premiership tie tomorrow.
Jam, who is out through injury, will not be part of the team that will travel to Zvishavane for the game, but is confident his teammates will rise to the occasion.
“The morale is high after our win last week when we hosted Hwange and I believe we have players who can do the job well,” said Jam.
“I think results can now start to come our way after the win against Hwange and we need to continue from where we left.
“FC Platinum are a good side, but we will do our best to come out with a positive result, we have not been lucky on the road, but we hope to start winning matches now. The guys are working hard at training and we hope to do well.”
Harare City lost to Triangle and CAPS United in their last two away matches while they have managed to collect maximum points against Mutare City and Hwange at home.
The Sunshine Boys will miss several key players due to injuries and other commitments.
Ronald Chitiyo, Tanaka Ruzvidzo and Jam are all injured while Martin Vengesai and goalkeeper Maxwell Nyamupanedengu are writing examinations.
Harare City have fond memories of Mandava where they won the Chibuku Super Cup last season.
Coach Taurai Mangwiro believes it is high time they start winning away matches.
“We have some injuries, but I believe playing against Norman Mapeza’s team will encourage the boys to do well.
“They have a good side and results show that as they are still to taste defeat and we will take them seriously and we expect to register our first victory away from home.
“Several players will be out, but we will improvise with those available.
“We respect them as FC Platinum, but we will come hard at them,” said Mangwiro.
