DYNAMOS are picking up points but Collin “Mbeumo” Mujuru says they are playing a dangerous game by allowing opponents to strike first.
The defender has raised concern ahead of this afternoon’s battle against Bulawayo Chiefs at Barbourfields.
DeMbare beat TelOne 2-1 and drew 2-2 against Highlanders and, in both games, they had to come from behind.
“As a club, we are happy with how we have started the season, especially given where we are coming from,” he said.
“But we are not happy with the way we are allowing opponents to score first. It’s not something we should be doing as Dynamos.
“We need to be compact from the front. That’s where defending starts. We have to improve going into this match.”
He added:
“I am comfortable playing any role the coaches give me.
“My understanding with (Clive) Mandivei is improving, but we have to fix the goals we are conceding.”
Forward Frank Agyemang, who opened his account against TelOne, believes there is progress in attack.
“We are creating chances and scoring goals, which was a problem last year,” he said.
“But we know this will not be an easy game. Bulawayo Chiefs are a good side.”
DeMbare coach, Genesis Mangombe, is aware of the big task that awaits him and his charges at Emagumeni.
“It’s another big game for us and we are hoping to continue from where we left off against Highlanders.
“Bulawayo Chiefs are always a tricky side. We need maximum concentration,” said Mangombe.
The Glamour Boys are on a remarkable unbeaten run in the Castle Lager Premiership, stretching over eight months.
Two games into the new season, DeMbare are yet to taste defeat after winning their first game against TelOne at Ascot, and then twice fighting back from behind to force a draw against Highlanders. Chiefs coach John Nyikadzino said they are expecting a tough match.
“We are expecting a tough match against Dynamos. We know it’s not going to be easy,” said Nyikadzino.
“I know Dynamos, I also watched them play against Highlanders, they play as a unit and we will try hard to get the better of them.”
