POPULAR comedian and social media sensation Comic Elder, real name Leroy Zaware who recently received a Ford Ranger Raptor from President Mnangagwa, will be allowed to park the vehicle for free in the capital until December 31, this year.
The exemption was announced by City Parking in a statement in which it also extended its congratulations to the entertainer.
“Congratulations to Comic Elder for receiving a wonderful gift of a Ford Ranger Raptor from His Excellency President E.D. Mnangagwa,” read the statement.
“Thank you, Your Excellency, for recognising talent. We extend our appreciation by exempting the vehicle from paying parking fees until December 31 2025.”
The gesture follows President Mnangagwa’s public recognition of Comic Elder’s contribution to entertainment and youth empowerment, which has resonated with millions of Zimbabweans on digital platforms.
City Parking’s move was widely applauded on social media, with many describing it as a fitting tribute to homegrown talent and an example of how Government and institutions can support creative arts.
The company said the exemption symbolises not only appreciation for Comic Elder’s achievements but also the importance of celebrating local innovation and creativity.
Comic Elder rose to fame through humorous and relatable skits that have captivated audiences across the country and in the diaspora.
