Hello gentle readers, I hope I find you well as begin yet another year – 2016.
We have indeed learnt a lot in the so called year of lessons but it appear a lot of people still think that when you get in the gym, you get the results that you want easily but honestly. No. We still have to learnt a lot in this area.
Let’s be realistic, YOUR COMMITMENT IS THE KEY.
Do you think it’s simple to lose weight? If you listen to the weight loss industry, the experts, you have been told over and over how it is just “take this pill, follow that diet or, buy this piece of equipment and everything will melt away in a flash”. In fact, we spend over billions each year on weight loss products and services and yet we are still overweight. In light of this, “Is weight loss really that simple?”
The idea behind weight loss is simple – burn more calories than you eat. There are a number of factors that contribute to our weight gain and most of them you already know. But it’s not just about finding time to exercise, it’s about GENUINE COMMITMENT to make healthy decisions everyday. . . regardless of what happens in your life. If you are not ready to make some changes, losing weight will be hard.
There are important aspects such as your attitude. If you are only on a health kick to lose weight or look a certain way, it will be hard to lose weight permanently. Why? Because what happens if you don’t see results quick enough? You give up.
Weight loss is a great goal but you also need something else to motivate you. Your instructor and gym can also play a big role in motivating you to achieve your goals by introducing competitions like The Biggest Loser, the most energetic in a group, etc, only for you to be healthy. Besides all this, find more reasons to be healthy – having more energy, dealing with health problems or wanting to live longer to be around for your kids. These are some of the good reasons if you ask me.
Your workouts – If you don’t work out consistently enough, it’s hard to lose weight. Yes, it’s possible to lose weight through diet alone but you will be likely to hit a plateau. You don’t need to spend hours in the gym, you only need to set up a reasonable workout schedule you can follow each week. It’s not about killing yourself with workout, it’s about doing the right thing. And also, you should find something you like and that you will continue with for the rest of your life. You have to be willing to be more active on a regular basis, not just for a week here and there.
There are some people I have worked with who never believed in themselves but due to correct workouts and a positive attitude, they can boast and preach the words of success in their fitness life. Changing the way you eat is another thing you are going to do for long lasting weight loss. You need to replace unhealthy foods with healthier choices.
