Dr Sikhanyiso Ndlovu, was on Sunday night sprayed with political graffiti by suspected MDC-T youths.
The development has raised fears of political violence.
The computer centre is complementing Government efforts in teaching computers to the youths.
Students who spoke to Chronicle yesterday on condition of anonymity said they were now learning in fear, as they did not know what the suspected MDC-T youths would do next.
In an interview from Harare, Dr Ndlovu condemned the behaviour of the suspected MDC-T youths, saying it worked against the Government’s efforts of promoting education and computer literacy.
“Such deplorable behaviour is uncalled for because it deprives the community a chance to learn in peace,” said Dr Ndlovu.
“We have since reported the matter to the police and they will do their duty in bringing the culprits to book.”
Dr Ndlovu also commended the community for letting the police do their job instead of taking the law into their hands.
He said he would not be deterred by political hooligans in promoting education, as he is the patron of Mpopoma High School and the Better Schools Programme for more than 20 schools.
Dr Ndlovu said education should not be marred by political fanaticism.
The acting police spokesperson for Bulawayo Province, Assistant Inspector Bekimpilo Ndlovu, confirmed the incident and warned the public against such activities.
“We attended to an incident where unknown people wrote political messages on the precast wall and billboard at a Mpopoma house belonging to Dr Sikhanyiso Ndlovu,” he said.
“No arrests have been made so far and we are still investigating. We would like to warn the public against such conduct, as it is an offence. We will not hesitate to arrest such people.”
