Connor said he will spend the week working on team building so that the new recruits and the old players blend into a unit.
The Northern Irishman said a team like CAPS United should always focus on trying to win the league championship.
“My training programme consists of assessing psychical condition since its off season, technical abilities, applying tactics in the type of formation we are going to use and having gym sessions at least twice a week for endurance purposes,” Connor said.
He said the Zimbabwe Premiership was competitive as evidenced by the extra slots given to the country for the Champions League and Confederations Cup tournaments.
Connor said he had been briefed of the fierce rivalry that exists between CAPS United and Dynamos and was aware that the Green Machine lost four times to their bitter rivals last year.
“I have been told a lot about the rivalry between our club and Dynamos hence it’s important to register victories this season,” said Connor.
“It could be dangerous to focus on Dynamos only although I know the importance of such a win.”
Connor watched as CAPS United impressed in beating South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns and Black Leopards in Polokwane last Sunday.
He wants the CAPS United management to organise more international friendly matches against teams from neighbouring countries before the start of the new season.
Connor hailed his assistants – Lloyd Chitembwe, Kennedy Nagoli and Joel Luphahla – as a dynamic and energetic trio.
