IN light of the organisation’s aim to transform Africa through evangelism, fellowship, and religious ecumenism, the Council of Churches in Africa (CCA) has launched another chapter in Kenya for its affiliate churches based in that country.
The launch, presided over by CCA founding president Archbishop Professor Rocky Moyo, saw Bishop Ephraim Wabwile Wakhungu officially appointed as the new president of the CCA Kenya Chapter.
The Council of Churches in Africa is a non-profit faith-based ecumenical umbrella body for indigenous churches in Africa with the aim to promote love, peace and justice among churches through genuine dialogue and engagement in an effort to avoid church splits in the region.
In a statement, Archbishop Professor Moyo said that as an organisation, they really appreciate the strides that CCA is making in evangelising, uniting, developing, and empowering churches throughout Africa.
“As an organisation, we deeply appreciate the strides the Council of African Apostles (CCA) is making in evangelising, uniting, developing, and empowering churches throughout Africa. The launch of a new chapter in Kenya, for our affiliate churches based in that country, aligns with our core philosophy.
“As a non-profit, faith-based ecumenical umbrella body for indigenous churches in Africa, CCA’s mission is to promote love, peace, and justice among churches through genuine dialogue and engagement. This effort aims to prevent church splits within the region and foster unity,” reads the statement.
Archbishop Professor Moyo said that their dedication to transforming Africa through evangelism, fellowship, and religious ecumenism is paramount.
“With a deep commitment to tolerance and co-existence, we envision a continent united in faith and service to humanity. Our leadership’s visionary approach has earned our organisation recognition and respect across Africa. We are pleased to announce the appointment of Bishop Ephraim Wabwile Wakhungu as the new President of the CCA Kenya Chapter,” he said.
