THE power of sport to unify and uplift communities will be on show when Mutare City Council and Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) Manicaland host separate golf tournaments at Hillside Golf Club, with both events aimed at assisting the less privileged.
City of Mutare will stage its charity golf tournament next Thursday, while ZPCS will hold the Commissioner General’s Goodwill Trust fundraising tournament on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
Both tournaments will be held at Hillside Golf Club, Mutare.
In a statement, Mutare City Council said the tournament seeks to raise funds for Zororai Old People’s Home and to provide educational assistance to vulnerable children in the community.
“Funds will be raised through various sponsorship packages and donations are also welcome. The sponsorship packages are as follows: Diamond Package – US$1 000, with benefits that include hole sponsorship, an exhibition tent, branding, and a four-ball. The Platinum Package costs US$500 with benefits that include an exhibition tent, branding, and a four-ball. The Gold Package costs US$400 with benefits that include an exhibition tent and a four-ball. The Silver Package costs US$200 and its benefits include branding and a four-ball, while the Individual Package costs US$50,” reads part of the statement.
Meanwhile, ZPCS Manicaland, in a separate statement, invited organisations to partner as sponsors for the Commissioner General’s Goodwill Trust Fundraising Golf Tournament.
“The ZPCS – Manicaland Province cordially invites your esteemed organisation to partner with us as a sponsor for the Commissioner General’s Goodwill Trust Fundraising Golf Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, 25 July 2026, at Hillside Golf Club, Mutare.
“Riding on the theme: ‘Swing for Hope towards a Brighter Future’, this tournament offers a unique platform to advance a noble cause while benefiting from premium brand exposure and alignment with the prestige, discipline, and networking opportunities synonymous with the sport of golf.
“Our goal is to raise US$30 000 for the Commissioner General’s Goodwill Trust Fund. Proceeds will directly support orphans and widows under the care of ZPCS through school fees and educational support, food hampers and nutrition, medical supplies, healthcare and general welfare amenities.
“Beyond financial sponsorship, we would greatly appreciate contributions of vouchers, products, or prizes to award tournament winners and participants. By supporting this tournament, your organisation champions philanthropy and community upliftment while engaging with a diverse network of business leaders, Government officials, and stakeholders from across Manicaland and beyond.
“It is an opportunity to demonstrate corporate social responsibility and build valuable relationships in a setting defined by integrity and goodwill.
“We will be honoured to discuss sponsorship opportunities further and tailor a package that aligns with your corporate objectives. The detailed sponsorship packages are attached for your consideration. It is hoped that your organisation will consider supporting this impactful initiative. Together, we can drive real change for vulnerable families.”
