Court orders man to collect child from ex

Nhlalwenhle Ncube
A BULAWAYO woman has approached the courts to instruct her ex-boyfriend to come and collect his daughter.

Iris Modise and Ndaba Maseko had been cohabiting as lovers since 2010 but sometime this year they broke up and they went their separate ways, however, Maseko left his daughter behind.

Modise, out of anger, kicked Masekoas daughter into the streets because she wanted nothing to do with anything that reminded her of the past.

But out of pity, she took her back as she found a more reasonable way to get rid of the child.

Appearing before Bulawayo magistrate Tancy Dube, Modise narrated how her relationship with Maseko broke down through domestic violence and abuse. She added that it was time for him to take responsibility of his daughter.

a?Can the court help me by ordering this man to collect his daughter because I cannot continue staying with her. It does not make sense to keep staying with the child when I am no longer in love with her father,a? said Modise.

Maseko didnat challenge the application and promised to look for alternative accommodation for his daughter.

Presiding magistrate Tancy Dube granted the order in favour of Modise. .
