A HARARE man left the Civil Court disappointed when his application for a protection order against his ex-wife was dismissed.

Lovemore Chifamba approached the court accusing his former wife, Susan Maramba, of bringing boyfriends into their matrimonial home.

“Your Worship, I am disturbed because my ex-wife is now a sex worker, who brings her clients into our matrimonial home.

“When wives of her boyfriends come to enquire about their husbands, they end up fighting in front of my children, which is not good at all.

“This really affects me because she is abusing our minor children, of which both of them are girls,” Chifamba said.

He also claimed he took his children after noticing that his former wife was irresponsible and unfit to be a parent.

However, Maramba denied ever being a sex worker and claimed she was a vendor.

“Your Worship, this man is lying and only trying to evict me from our matrimonial home.

“The problem is that this man took our children without my consent, which I am against,” said Maramba.

The children are both girls aged 11 and 13.

Magistrate Sharon Mashavire said the matter didn’t have enough evidence of abuse, which the man claimed.

“This court is not satisfied by your allegations that your ex-wife is actually abusing you like you have said, therefore, your application for the protection order is dismissed,” ruled the magistrate.
