FORMER Miss Earth Zimbabwe 2023 and environmental activist, Courtney Tadiwanashe Jongwe, has been crowned Miss World Zimbabwe 2024/25.

The 23-year-old chemical engineering student impressed the judges with her poise, intellect and mission to champion global mental health, with a focus on youth well-being in alignment with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being).

The event, held at Siyekhaya Estate, showcased Zimbabwe’s finest talent with Yollanda Chimbarami and Lifee Matunzeni rounding out the top three contestants.

Courtney’s crowning moment was met with thunderous applause from an enthusiastic audience, including former Miss World Zimbabwe winners Nokutenda Marumbwa and Belinda Potts. Marumbwa, who reached the Top 5 at the Miss World pageant during her reign, presented the crown, passing the torch to her successor.

Potts, Miss World Zimbabwe 2023, returned to the spotlight as one of the evening’s esteemed judges. The event organiser, renowned talent agent Patience Muzanenhamo, was visibly moved as she addressed the audience.

“It is such a joyous occasion for me today,” she said, her voice filled with emotion.

“I have worked in South Africa, I have worked all over the world, but it has been my dream to bring my work home.”

Courtney’s victory marks another milestone in her already impressive journey.

Known for her environmental advocacy during her tenure as Miss Earth Zimbabwe, she now shifts her focus to mental health, vowing to inspire and support young people through education, awareness, and accessible resources.

Her win has sparked excitement across Zimbabwe, as fans eagerly anticipate her representing the nation on the global stage at the Miss World competition.

With her combination of beauty, brains, and compassion, Courtney embodies the spirit of Zimbabwean excellence and is poised to make the nation proud.
