TIGER WOODS spent eight hours behind bars on Friday following a high speed SUV smash.
The golf icon, 50, was hit with misdemeanour charges of driving under the influence, property damage and refusing to submit to a lawful test.
Fifteen-time major champion Woods is almost certainly the most famous, decorated golfer of all time.But with his greatness on the course has come a complex private life off it.
Woods was married to model Elin Nordegren between 2004 and 2010, with the couple having two children together; Sam, 18, and Charlie, 17.
Their marriage infamously unravelled in 2009, however, when it emerged that the American had engaged in several affairs.
Woods crashed into a fire hydrant outside his home that year and was rescued by Elin, who helped him out of the car by smashing its windows with a golf club.It then emerged that the pair had been involved in a huge row, with as many as 13 women claiming that they had been romantically involved with Woods during his marriage.
Former nightclub hostess Rachel Uchitel was among those to come forward, as well as porn star Joslyn James and waitress Mindy Lawton.
The latter even claimed that Woods is “very well endowed” – a statement that wouldn’t have gone down well with his wife.
In 2006, Woods bought his stunning Florida mansion for £33million in the famously exclusive Jupiter Island neighbourhood.
The father-of-two has done a lot of work to his bachelor pad, including installing a gym, home cinema, wine cellar, swimming pool and tennis court.His neighbours include the likes of Bill Gates and Celine Dion, with the property now said to be worth around £41m.
After Elin moved out following their 2010 divorce, Woods went on to share the property with girlfriend Erica Herman.
Erica left when they broke up in 2023 but then dramatically launched a $30million (£25million) lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend for allegedly tricking her into moving out.
Woods’ lawyers disputed the claim, insisting that she had lived there as a “guest” and the lawsuit was later dropped.The former world No1 has since moved on and is now dating Vanessa Trump – the former wife of Donald Trump Jr.
Tiger and Vanessa celebrated his 50th together at a lavish bash in January.
And while the golf icon is now dating his son’s ex-wife, US president Donald Trump remains a huge fan.
Following Woods’ latest crash yesterday, Trump, 79, said: “I feel so badly. He has got some difficulty. There was an accident. That’s all I know.
“He’s a very close friend of mine. He’s an amazing person – an amazing man.” —The Sun
