CHIPINGE-based ZIFA Manicaland Province Division One League log leaders Crest Value FC have high chances of winning promotion into the more competitive first division. Crest are on the verge of clinching the title as they occupy top position on the log with only three rounds of league matches before the season ends. The Lovemore “Thula’’ Maphuya-coached side are enjoying a nine-point lead ahead of Mutare side Bottle Tigers.
Crest FC have amassed 84 points from 33 rounds of league matches while second-placed Bottle Tigers are nine points shy of the log leaders.
Crest FC coach Lovemore “Thula Maphuya” says that his side will fight to the end in their quest to gain promotion
“We are not going to relax until the end and I wish to win all the remaining games just to finish in style,’’ said Thula.
Pint-sized Maphuya bragged that he has the best strike force in Manicaland.
“I think my strike force is one of the best in Manicaland and you can prove this by going back to the log table. We won 26 games and drew six matches and only lost once. My side is very good when playing home and away and it’s made up of energetic young players who are well disciplined,” said the former Motor Action defence lynchpin.
However, for now, the Chipinge side would need to hold its nerve and continue collecting points in order for them to clinch the title. Crest FC are still to face Timothy
‘‘Sicho’’ Masachi’s La Sakubva, ZRP Mutare and Claremont in their remaining three matches.
