BULAWAYO is turning up the heat both on and off the field as the city’s top creatives rally behind the Chevrons ahead of their epic Test series against South Africa at Queens Sports Club.
Dubbed The Battle of the Limpopo, the historic clash has sparked a campaign like no other, with big names in music and media joining forces with Zimbabwe Cricket to fire up fan fever and fill the stands from 28 June to 10 July.

From the stage to the scoreboard, artists Mzoe 7, Msiz’kay, La Dee and media personality B’Kay are leading the charge, using their star power to lure not just die-hard cricket lovers but fashionistas, music fans and trendsetters to Barbourfields’ cricket fortress.
“This isn’t just about cricket. It’s about celebrating Zimbabwe, supporting our own, and uniting people,” said Mzoe 7. “I wish the Chevrons all the best. You inspire us!”
Zimbabwe Cricket Bulawayo Big Match chairperson Vumindaba Moyo said the goal is simple — pack out Queens.

“Queens is a Bulawayo venue, so we wanted people who locals can identify with. Fame and influence mattered. We’ve worked with Bosso, Chicken Inn, and Chiefs before. Now it’s time to take cricket to the streets,” he said.
The campaign could also see artists perform the national anthem or take the stage during breaks, turning the matches into a full-on entertainment experience.
Radio star B’Kay said being part of the initiative is personal.
“We used to play street cricket with planks and tennis balls. Now we’re on the big stage. It feels like a national duty to support this,” he said.
La Dee called it a “privilege” to fuse sport and pop culture, while Msiz’kay said the campaign connects his creative pride with civic pride.
“As a Bulawayo native, this speaks to my heart. Let’s come out and back our boys!”
With celebs in the mix, DJs hyping the crowd and Queens set to rock, cricket just got cool again.
