FORMER Zimbabwe senior national cricket team player, Tarisai Musakanda is now expected to appear in court today to answer to charges of attempted murder.

Musakanda (29), who was detained at Kwekwe Central Police Station, did not appear in court yesterday as expected to allow his wife Tinodiwanashe Makunike to be examined by a medical doctor to ascertain the degree of injuries.

Tinodiwanashe sustained injuries on both her hands, a cut on the backbone and some bruises on her body following an alleged attack by Musakanda, who was reportedly wielding a knife.

Musakanda and Tarisai’s misunderstanding awakened their neighbours along Budelia Street, Masasa in Kwekwe.

“We were supposed to attend the court today but Tinodiwanashe is yet to be examined by the medical doctor.

“We are to attend her court tomorrow,” said one of the relatives.

Musakanda was reported to have stabbed Tinodiwanashe following a misunderstanding over two men, who came to their house demanding money for a shelter.

Tinodiwanashe had engaged the men to erect a shelter at her vending site. It is alleged that Musakanda questioned their visit, assaulted his wife leading to his arrest.
