19-YEAR-OLD talented dancer Rashid Tendai Gogodo has vowed to raise Manicaland flag high when he represents the province at the Jibilika dance festival national competitions to be held next Saturday in Harare. Rashid came out tops in the provincial finals held last month at Courtauld Theatre after upstaging over 10 contestants who showcased their talents in theatrical, dance and other performances.
Dance group Juveniles and Vintage scooped second and third places respectively.

The festival was launched in 2007 and is aimed at promoting and nurturing talent as well as creating employment for youths.
In an interview, Rashid, a Lower Six student at Herentals College, said: “Dancing is now a profession and I am taking it seriously.
“This competition means a lot to me.

“I wish to make my people in Mutare proud and I promise them that I am going to put up my best,” said the bubbly dancer.
Rashid is a solo dancer who has won several accolades.
Prominent musicians and dancers Usher and Neyo as well as his parents are his sources of inspiration.
