THE Makoni District Darts Association League continues to grow from strength to strength following the doubling up of membership from four to eight teams.New teams, ZRP Rusape Urban, Fire and Ice, Dhliwayo and Little Kraal are the new entrants to the three-year-old league, joining old boys like Hide Out Inn, CK Bar, Dhliwayo and Officer’s Mess.
The league’s organising secretary, Action Chiroodza, appealed to more interested teams to pay affiliation fees and join their expanding league. He said besides league encounters there were tournaments in between the league games.
“The number of teams in the league has increased this year from four to eight and this is encouraging because we have been lobbying for more teams to join us. The coming up of more teams means that the level of competition will be tough hence making the league exciting.
“We are still calling up for more teams to join the league. Even teams that are outside Rusape urban are most welcome. As of now, we only had Little Kraal from Nyazura which is not based in Rusape. Affiliation fee is only $50 per team for the entire season and a team must have at least six registered players. Darts is a sport that unites people of different backgrounds. Although it is mostly played in bars it is not only for drunkards, but for everyone,” he said.
