GOKWE has been thrown into a state of fear and disbelief after a chilling case of suspected blood extraction involving a 10-year-old girl rocked the usually quiet town!
Police have arrested Mavis Sibanda (33), a clothes vendor at Gokwe Centre, who allegedly lured the girl, injected her with a needle, and drained her blood into a syringe, in broad daylight and in full view of stunned passersby!
The motive behind the bizarre and spine-chilling act remains a mystery, sparking whispers of ritualistic intentions and occult practices.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police arrested a 33-year-old woman on allegations of assault involving the draining of blood from a juvenile. The case happened on 26 May at around 10am in Gokwe Town,” confirmed Midlands police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko.
He said Sibanda is accused of targeting the girl as she walked past her market stall, calling her over before carrying out the gruesome act.
“She injected the child and drew blood that filled a syringe. She is currently in custody as investigations continue,” said Insp Mahoko.
Gokwe residents are shaken to the core, with some fearing there may be a dark underworld operating in the town.
