Delegates to the just-ended Zanu-PF 18th Annual National People’s Conference have been commended for the exemplary behaviour they exhibited during the event.
Vice President Constantino Chiwenga made the remarks at the closing ceremony on Saturday.
“We have had a good conference that has satisfied us all and I don’t think there is anyone among you who is not happy with what we have achieved and regrets attending the conference,” he said.
“We want to thank you for your discipline which you displayed and the attention. You were quite attentive as proceedings of this conference were going on.”
“We have come to the end of this 18th National People’s Conference.”
“The President was listening very carefully to all the proceedings and the resolutions which came from the various thematic committees and provinces.”
The conference was attended by over 5 000 delegates. The event was held in an orderly manner with proceedings going on smoothly.
The delegates also came smartly dressed in their party regalia.
They were wearing party regalia blended in green, red and yellow, emblazoned with President Mnangagwa’s portrait.
Most notable were women, whose outfits were exceptionally designed.
Entertainment was provided by various groups including the police band, while there was enough food for everyone.
VP Chiwenga introduced Cde Brian Mteki who rejoined Zanu-PF after contesting last year’s elections as an independent candidate.
Cde Mteki was one of the leaders taking part in the Political Actors Dialogue (POLAD) initiated by President Mnangagwa to bring all political players to the negotiating table to discuss various issues affecting the country.
