THE Premier Soccer League has come down hard on Dynamos and Chicken Inn, finding both clubs guilty for the abandonment of their respective matches and slapping them with hefty fines.
In rulings released Wednesday, the PSL Disciplinary Committee handed Chicken Inn a US$5 000 fine and awarded their abandoned tie against Scottland FC as a 3–0 walkover to the opponents.
The drama at Rufaro Stadium on 23 May also saw Gamecocks midfielder George Majika fined US$1 000 for his part in the chaos.
In another verdict, Dynamos were also found guilty for triggering the premature end of their 22 June clash against FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium.
The Glamour Boys have been fined US$5 000 and forfeited the match to FC Platinum by a 3–0 scoreline.
Coach Saul Chaminuka was not spared either. The gaffer was fined US$4 000 and banned from the technical bench for the club’s next two matches.
“Consequently, the club has been fined a sum of US$5 000 and the match was awarded to FC Platinum on a three nil score line. Furthermore, Dynamos head coach Saul Chaminuka was also held responsible for his conduct during the match. He has been fined US$4 000 and banned from occupying the technical bench for the club’s next two matches,” said PSL communications and liaison officer Kudzai Bare.
The bans mean Chaminuka will watch from the stands when DeMbare face Manica Diamonds at home and Chicken Inn away in back-to-back crunch encounters.
