THE gruesome death of DJ Cosmos, who was stabbed four times in full view of party guests in Highfield, Harare, is back under the spotlight as the murder trial of Ediso Sani opens tomorrow at the High Court.
Sani is accussed of fatally stabbing DJ Cosmos with a dagger, at his ex-wife’s party, last year.
Sani (43) fatally stabbed DJ Cosmos four times on the abdomen and throat after being restrained from attacking his ex-wife, Amina Rufani, in March last year.
The trial will be presided over by Justice Rodgers Manyangadze tomorrow and Friday.
The State said DJ Cosmos, real name Cosmas Zimbowa, had been hired to perform at a birthday party organised by Rufani in Egypt, Highfield, Harare.
The State said Sani stormed the party, armed with a dagger (bakatwa), with the intention of attacking his ex-wife Rufani.
He was restrained by DJ Cosmos.
In a fit of rage, Sani then stabbed the DJ twice on the neck, and twice in the abdomen, in full view of the guests.
DJ Cosmos died on the spot.
Police found Sani in possession of the dagger that he used to fatally stab the DJ when they arrested him.
