A FORMER polygamist is accusing his ex-wife of stalking him and straining his relationship with his wife.

Admire Sithole who used to have two wives said his ex-wife, Struggle Dhlamini, is in the habit of calling him at night under the guise of asking for child support.

He claimed that Dhlamini is still in love with him and is trying to ruin his marriage.

Sithole revealed this when he was dragged to the maintenance court by Dhlamini who was asking for US$80 for the upkeep of their two children.

Mr Xavier Chipato presided over the matter.

“She calls me at ungodly hours and this is disturbing my very peaceful marriage. Maintenance should be deposited in a bank account and I have asked her to provide her account details, but she has failed to do so. Instead, she keeps calling me and that is not sitting well with my wife,” said Sithole.

He described Dhlamini as a drama queen.

“This woman is a drama queen. Do not be fooled by how she is acting in this court. She appears to be a very quiet and decent person who respects my marriage and my wife but hell will broke loose the moment we leave this building.

“I do not know why she acts like that, but I suspect that she wants me back. My wife even thinks that I am seeing her again, but it is over between the two of us. She dumped me saying she was against a polygamous marriage. I have since lost interest in her,” he said.

Dhlamini, however, rubbished allegations that she wants Sithole back in his life.

She said she only calls him asking for child support.

Dhlamini, however, confirmed that she calls her ex-husband during odd hours.

“His phone is always unreachable during the day and I keep trying it until it goes through. Usually, my calls go through at night. If he wants me to call him during the day, maybe he should switch on his phone then.

“This is why I have dragged him to this court so that he can be ordered to take care of his children. I am actually here to give him my bank account number. I do not want him back due to the reasons that I left him in the first place. I will not call him ever again if he takes care of his children,” said Dhlamini.

She told the court that besides his salary, Sithole also does part time jobs and rents out his house.

Sithole, however, said he can only afford to pay $13 000 every month as he gets a monthly salary of $38 000 as a mechanic.

He claimed that with his salary, he can not even afford to send his five other children to school, arguing that his uncle is the one taking care of the minors’ school fees.

“I only get US$20 from the house that I rent out and my salary is not enough to provide for the two families. My uncle is now paying school fees for my children. I honestly cannot afford the amount that she wants,” he said.

Mr Chipato ordered Sithole to pay $20 000 for the upkeep of his two children.

He also told Dhlamini that maintenance is payable according to means and not wants.
