Drunk Entumbane dad arrested for hitting daughter (13) with stone during birthday bash

A 30-year-old Bulawayo man who allegedly struck his daughter (13) above the eye with a stone while drunk at a birthday party has appeared in court.

Ndabezinhle Dube, of Entumbane suburb, appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Mr Jeconia Ncube facing a charge of physical abuse.
He was granted $30 bail and remanded to June 22 while awaiting a medical report.
Prosecutor, Mr Tafara Dzimbanhete told the court that the complainant and the accused are father and daughter.

He said on June 9, 2026 the accused and his family held a birthday party at their place of residence.
The court heard that the accused got drunk and started throwing stones. In the process, he struck his 13-year-old daughter above her right eye with a stone.
She sustained a deep cut and was referred to hospital for medical attention, Mr Dzimbanhete said.

A police report was made, leading to the arrest of the accused, he added.
