“There have been calls for Cuthbert Dube to step down and even allegations being levelled against him but he has sent me to tell you he is not going anywhere until Zifa is clean.
“Dube has no intention to leave office anytime soon and will do so when Zifa is clean.
“Therefore he has thrown his name into hat (for the 2014 elections) and is inviting interested candidate to come out in the open,” said Mutasa.
Dube, the Premier Service Medical Aid Society chief executive, was ushered into office after trouncing challenger Lesley Gwindi in the March 2010 elections at Prince Edward School in Harare.
His first term of office, which runs out in March 2014, has been rocked by a number of scandals such as the Asiagate scam inherited from the Wellington Nyatanga-led board.
Even the finance books at Zifa have remained in the red with close to US$2 million owed to creditors.
Mutasa reiterated that Dube was not reading much into the vote-buying allegations levelled against him.
