TWO people will each perform 175 hours of community service for bribing a prosecutor.

Svodai Vhoko (34) and Sekai Tagara (37) were arraigned before the Chiredzi Magistrates’ Court for bribing the prosecutor.

They were sentenced to six months imprisonment, of which one month was suspended for five years.

The remaining five months were commuted to 175 hours of community service.

On November 11, 2024, the two offered a US$10 bribe to a prosecutor in an attempt to secure the release of Lloyd Zambuko, who was facing charges of unlawful entry into premises under aggravating circumstances.

Tagara and Vhoko were arrested soon after tendering the bribe.

The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe has reminded the public that bribery is a serious crime that undermines the integrity of the justice system.
